While I grew up fishing with my grandpa at the pond almost daily after all the chores were finished ( following behind him with a can for collecting the fishing worms) and fished with my dad anytime I could in his boat or on the bank. I started painting the bass fish when my dad was still alive and had his bass club still active. I would sneak his bass magazines home and paint from the pictures in the magazines onto the canvas, plywood or whatever materials I could find to express what I saw through my eyes. Some were just boat battery ads and such so I would paint the picture leaving out the ad parts. Family members claiming the paintings as fast as I could finish them as they were my greatest fans. The bottom painting here of the bass splashing I still display on my wall and cherish as it was my dads favorite of all . Eagle Pay Lake And Restaurant of Valley Station, Ky. proudly displays their own D.Middleton Bass Painting inside on the wall so all visitors to the restaurant can enjoy the view.
