This painting was a special gift  to the family of JuLee as my daughter and JuLee  were  High School best friends and JuLee  she was like one of my own children to me (an emotional painting for me …..to say the least). We lost her in Feb 2015 at such an early age with so much still to do with her life. The painting by far cannot do justice to her beauty as she was beautiful inside and out in so many ways. A warm, caring, loving, always smiling, dedicated mother of two beautiful children, upbeat person who found the good in everyone she met.  JuLee had very pretty long hair and the UK fan loved wearing her ball cap and UK shirts so the painting was done from a family favorite photo of JuLee sporting her UK pride and loyalty. She is greatly missed every day by all who were touched by her life. The presence  of JuLee is felt by her family, friends, and children still and always will be. While portraits are not my strongest suit, I felt so drawn to do this painting when we lost her and I wasn’t even sure I could do it as she was close to my heart. It was kept a secret so to speak until I knew I had completely finished it . We are all very blessed to have known such a beautiful soul.
